Vegas

As most of you know I went to Vegas over this past weekend to help Peter celebrate his 32nd birthday (yes, he's that old and I love to mock him about it). Some things went according to plan for me. Some things did not.
What did go according to plan is I had fun. I had a lot of fun. I wont describe all the ways I had fun because some of it some people don't need to know.

I went with Jon, Pete, Lauren, Jessica, Brooklyn, her boyfriend and some other people to "XS" at Encore and "Tryst" at the Wynn. Both were awesome clubs that are normally above my paygrade. The good thing about knowing certain people is they know people who let people like me into clubs like those.

Those clubs are immaculate. All the details in them and lavish scale of the decor is amazing. The pools and waterfall are also spectacular. They're both cool to go to every now and then but where I'm currently at in my life (this is mostly financially) I'd rather be elsewhere. If I made a helluva lot more money that'd be a different story, but I don't so I'm cool with a dive bar.

One of the things that didn't go to plan was winning money gambling. I was discussing with Jon that my genius plan would be to win a lot of money at the blackjack and roulette tables. It was working at first (go figure) then Vegas turned its ugly head and took my money away from me. (The pic below is me when I was winning)

I didn't actually lose all that much, around $50, but it's the principal of the matter and the fact that I was dumb enough to not walk away when I was winning. I was doing really well on Roulette playing the outside and trying to guestimate where the ball will land next. One night I walked away up $100 or so.

I used some of that money to pay for food and drinks as well so that was good. I also talked with Jon about how next time I play and I'm winning a decent amount of money he should smack me in the back of the head and tell me to walk away before I blow it all trying to win even more (there's a history of gambling issues in my family, wahoo Vegas).

I'm excited to go back, possibly at the end of March for the first weekend of the March Madness tourney and meet up with Mr. Spicy Meat-a-ball to bet on a few games and regain some of my pride.
