Winter Time

I've spent a fair amount of time talking with friends back in Michigan and other parts of the Midwest and I always hear the same thing at some point in the conversation. The weather sucks right now.

I am now responding to this by telling people they are dumbasses. That's right, if you live there, have graduated college or are old enough to dictate your own life, and bitch about the weather you are a dumbass.

I too bitched about the weather and hating how I would freeze my ass of walking to class, going to the bars or going to work. But then I did something about it and moved to Southern California. I was proactive about my miserable state and decided I'd go where the sun shines year round (well, 90% of the time and we have a few smog days).

Most of my friends are at an age right now where this is the prime opportunity for them to move somewhere else in the country. Yeah, it sucks to leave family behind and I do miss mine everyday but I'd also be miserable there with the weather.

I'm not saying you have to live somewhere else the rest of your life, but at least adventure out of the Midwest some and learn a little about yourself and see other parts of the country. Or at least go somewhere where it's nice year round and doesn't snow.

My main point is quit bitching if you aren't going to do anything about it. You better have a damn good excuse for staying there and if that is the case you've accepted the weather that comes with your condition. Suck it up and deal with it.
